Bernard Yslaire’s “Sambre” series has all the scope and drama of an epic film. In addition to the seam of ancestral hatred that runs through generations of two warring families, the story unfolds against a backdrop of revolutionary upheaval and features characters whose roles would fulfil the ambition of many a fine actor. While we await the inevitable, we can feast our eyes on the cover illustration of the third “Sambre” volume, which Champaka has published in a film-poster format.
