Révolution

Révolution

Even if they find themselves in the throes of a revolution, Julie and Bernard remain young adolescents. Their love is still tied to outward appearances; they each love an image of the other. “How could they be any other way, at that age” muses Yslaire. “They are sincere, they love each other, and they are attracted to one another. They experience a real sense of desire. Even when life eventually separates them, the one thing they will be able to hold on to is what they shared in the vault. Behind this scene lies their youth, as though they didn’t want to grow up. For each of them, the other will always represent this lost paradise of youth.”
