This image, which features a photographer whose name (Werner Ysler) closely echoes that of its creator, is taken from the pages of “XXe Ciel.” It prompts the author to reflect on his raison d’être and his creative impulse. “Photography poses an excellent question: why waste so much time in drawing people in movement, when photography does it better, more quickly and with greater ease? Like many other artists, I have long answered that by saying that photographers were failed painters! Yet, in the messages of the angel I have tried to reclaim photography for myself. I’ve discovered that, apart from some technical differences, both drawing and photography respond in a similar way.”
