François Schuiten’s work has previously been published in screenprint form by Champaka. “Les nécropoles de Paris” and “Un siècle fièvreux” drew their inspiration from the world of Jules Verne, and are in no small measure the artist’s homage to the writer who, like him, was a creator of other worlds. “Le Port de Grenelle”, which brings this screenprint series to a close, is drawn from the same source and reflects shared themes. For this image, Schuiten and Champaka have chosen to issue the print in a limited edition, on high-quality paper. The large format favoured for the earlier prints has been retained, and it serves this image very well. The nuances of the image, particularly in the cloud detail of the background, are conserved and amplified.
