Champaka was pleased to publish, in June 1993, “Un été fatal”, the first screenprint by Vittorio Giardino. The master of Italian clear line style is engaged in work on “Jonas Fink”, a touching story set in the Prague of the nineteen-fifties. Champaka has been honoured with a rarity in bande dessinée, an unpublished illustration from Giardino. In this evocative print, which captures a moment from Jonas and Tatiana’s impromptu waltz on the Charles Bridge, can be glimpsed the artist’s subtle nod to the valse à mille temps of Jacques Brel.
