La balade des Marsupilami

La balade des Marsupilami

The most recent Marsupilami album, “Le Papillon des cimes”, has been produced as a limited, special, numbered edition. The fine quality of this special limited edition is seen in its cloth covers and screenprints (with some “Flash-Flash” that recall the legendary “Monstres de Franquin”). Batem and Franquin are the masters behind this creation. The world of the marsupilami holds countless opportunities for the illustrator. The more tender side of that world can be glimpsed in “La balade des marsupilamis” (background by Batem, characters by Franquin) and in “Le nid des marsupilamis” (Franquin). A composition of subdued nocturnal colour graces this drawing that so resembles an acclaimed album cover. It is, in fact, a later version discovered in one of André Franquin’s storage boxes. “La balade des Marsupilamis” is further testament to the marsupilamis’ celebration of the joys of life.
