Stephan Colman, creator (with Desberg) of “Billy the Cat”, a masterpiece of the “animal genre” in bande dessinée, could just as easily have been a formidable artist of realist bande dessinée. Some enthusiasts will remember “White le Choc” and “Radical Café”; a lucky few will have seen this remarkable, otherworldly screen-print. “It represents my love of all things architectural and mechanical, allied to my memories of the wonderful images, possibly somewhat out of date now, of the science fiction of Alex Raymond or even E.P. Jacobs” explains this uncommon and uniquely talented artist.
