Le crime de la rue morgue

This marks the first collaboration between Champaka and Yves Chaland. In an effort to persuade the artist, Eric Verhoest showed him the first three screen-prints produced by his publishing house: “Le rayon super gamma”, “Le Chinois à deux roues” and “Le fantôme espagnol.” The response? The author of “Bob Fish” placed his index finger against his lower lip (a gesture that was his trademark) and proclaimed “I can but say “yes” to the editor who has just published images by Paape-Charlier, Tillieux and, especially, Vandersteen!”
