Champaka’s fine screenprints and collectors’ editions of Chaland’s work (“Cœurs d’Acier”, “Les Inachevés”), greatly enhance the pleasure of reading his work. For three years, the publisher has been working on an art book, with the objective of collecting the best of his work as an illustrator (advertisements, newspaper illustrations, record covers, screenprints, private works/commissions) and thus giving an insight into his character. The discerning public finally has access to a substantial body of work (more than 250 illustrations) hitherto unavailable. To accompany this sumptuous collection, which modestly bears the simple title of “Chaland”, Champaka is publishing a screenprint that conveys wonderfully the festive atmosphere of late winter: “La Saint-Nicolas du Jeune Albert”.
