“Hergé’s line differs greatly from that of Chaland, but they both made use of elevated perspective in their work. Their characters can be very clearly identified from the front. As artists who work in a realist style, neither Ted Benoit nor I could do that” wrote Floc’h, in 2002, in “Chaland et les publicitaires.” He was actually writing about an image that was very similar in composition to this contemporary ideal of domestic bliss, as it might have been imagined in the 1950s!
