Ted Benoit, a veritable bard of the “ligne claire” style championed repeatedly by Champaka, had great success in 1996 with a challenge deemed by many to be impossible. He assumed, and fulfilled with brilliance, the role of graphic artist for Blake and Mortimer. Champaka chose to mark the event with the publication of a screen-print and portfolio. Better was to come: a second screen-print was published on the occasion of the 1997 Angoulême festival. This scene shows the moment when our two heroes, portrayed in their London apartment, react with surprise to the unfolding intrigue of a new adventure.
